How we select our staff at Finchley Nursery
Here at Finchley Preschool, we are dedicated to creating a happy, safe and positive space for all children in our care, to ensure that they are able to learn, grow and develop in a welcoming environment.
And this starts with having a skilled, experienced and passionate team that embodies all our core values and best practices. After all, our ultimate goal is to deliver the highest possible level of care to all of our children and this is an ethos that has continued to drive our business in the right direction.
With this in mind, when it comes to the recruitment process, we have extremely high standards. When it comes to the selection process, passion is one of the main qualities we look for in potential candidates, as we believe that this is a characteristic that cannot be taught.
For us, it’s essential that every member of our team loves what they do, as this shines through in every aspect of the role. But that’s not all… we also look for individuals who genuinely care for the children they are working with.
Our Finchley Nursery recruitment process
To ensure that we only employ the most passionate, dedicated, and qualified staff, we have a comprehensive recruitment process, which includes:
- Pre-interview screening
- In person interviews
- Trial sessions working with children in our nurseries
- DBS checking
- Reference checks
To work at Finchley Preschool, it’s essential that you have the relevant qualifications and skills. This is because we only consider applicants who are qualified at Level 3 or above, and all of our teachers must have a degree in their relevant subject area.
And it doesn’t stop there…
Once an employee has joined our team, we will provide on-going support, guidance and mentoring to ensure that they not only meet our impeccably high standards, but also that they settle in quickly and enjoy their new role.
All new starters are given a six-month probationary period. During this time, we will work alongside all new starters to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their new role.
During this time we will also make sure that they understand all of our policies and procedures, as well as our unique Finchley Preschool curriculum.
On-going training and support
We are committed to continuous development and improvement. After all… when we find great people, we don’t want to let them go.
Following their probation period, we continue to work closely with all our staff, providing on-going training, support, and mentoring to help them to develop, grow, and excel in their new roles.
